Product Use Guide

Directions
- Sprinkle powder directly onto desired area, massaging it in a circular motion down to the skin.
- If using as a remedy, leave on continuously, applying more as it wears off until completely healed.
- In hard-to-reach areas, such as legs or under belly, pour powder into palm of hand and place directly onto desired area down to skin.
- If using as a preventative or under equipment, apply generously and massage down to the skin and leave on.
For dark horses: In very rare instances, regular use of COAT DEFENSE® daily PREVENTATIVE POWDER may lighten the coat. We believe it has to do with the chemistry of a horse’s sweat and/or sunlight exposure mixed with the ingredients in our formula. If this concerns you, please use at your own risk.

Coat Defense is one of the best products for coats, both for dogs and horses. It is easy to apply and works good to help with a variety of issues. Introduced to it by a video and product give away through Valley Vet years ago and have been using it since. It's expensive so I buy the big bag and refill my applicators. I love having this on hand for the horses that are always itchy. I’ve been hoping for a soothing product that didn’t make a mess, they get quiet after I work this powder in. Cost defense works well for spots of fungus on my horses back as it dries it up. And on his cannon crud. It seems to be plentiful on older horses. I rub it in along his back and a little on his nose around his fly mask. And any where on his tummy where flies congregate. It keeps them at bay. Sprinkle rub and brush. I use a lot so i had to buy the big bag.

I've used this product daily on my sorrel mare's chest and a few other spots she like to rub. I wish she could tell me if it is helping because I just don't know for sure. If I were to guess I would say it has relieved some of her itching. I will continue to use the remainder I have in the container and possibly buy one more bottle to complete the hot summer. I am also feeding her an allergy supplement so maybe that is helping as well. It's so hard to tell on some horses. I would never advise anyone to not try this product.
