Directions
TROUBLE SPOT DRYING PASTE
Prior to application, gently clean any dirt or debris from treatment area. DO NOT pick off any existing scabs. Allow scabs to fall off on their own with Paste.
Using fingertips, scoop paste from container and spread thickly over treatment area. Spread as if covering bread with peanut butter, spread to surrounding areas and down to the skin. Do not rub in.
Let paste dry to a near white shell and leave on for several days.
Reapply as necessary until skin is fully healed.
For open wounds, to achieve better adhesion of the paste, first dry oozing by patting with a clean cloth and/or applying COAT DEFENSE® daily Preventative Powder.
Paste is also effective if thinned out with water or witch hazel. A more paint like layer of the paste provides an effective barrier between exposed skin (ears, bellies, etc.) and biting insects.
To remove, please wet first. Paste become abrasive when it is dry.
Use COAT DEFENSE® daily Preventative Powder to prevent future flare-ups. It’s a game changer for prevention!
For dark horses: In very rare instances, regular use of COAT DEFENSE® TROUBLE SPOT DRYING PASTE may magnify the lightening effect of the sunlight and sweat. For our peace of mind, please test in a small area first.
FIELD COAT
Apply a thin layer to affected areas as needed. Make sure the area is clean and dry prior to application.
For sun protection: Apply a thin layer to prone areas. Repeat as needed.
Pro Tip: When treating hard, dried scratches, apply FIELD COAT first to soften scabs. Once softened, TROUBLE SPOT DRYING PASTE can penetrate and work more effectively.
This stuff really works! I purchased it for my children's dairy goats and cows prior to our show season this year after our show cows got into a patch of brambles. It healed their cuts quickly and the hair regrew surprisingly fast. We also had a show dairy goat that had an allergic reaction with hives. A few applications healed up her resulting itchy dermatitis and she is show ready!
I was struggling with hock sores on my young gelding. I tried all kinds of medicated creams, hock mesh wraps and nothing was working to heal the sores. I was skeptical but bought the
drying paste. I was amazed how fast it worked in one week. He now has hair starting to grow and covering the old sores. I have been calling it a Miracle clay!!! I love it!
I have come to really value Coat Defense products for treating skin issues from scratches to minor cuts and scrapes. It does exactly what it claims to do- heals fast!
My mini rubbed off all the hair on the side of her muzzle from chin to cheek and had a nickle size ulceration/abrasion in the middle. Maybe an insect bite? Whatever, I applied the pastel. Wasn't sure if it would stick but it did. Took only 3 applications a couple days apart and it healed up beautiful 😍 I'm a believer!
