I’m Vince, a co-founder and CEO of COAT DEFENSE. I am excited to introduce myself as I’m only able to talk to about a dozen of you every day. I love learning directly from you about what’s going on with your four-legged family members. Although you are from all over the country, I’m hearing similar stories over and over again.
What I hear mostly is frustration from the pain of watching your pets in misery. Everyone at COAT DEFENSE is heartbroken at the level of suffering these animals are going through. We’re writing this because we believe we can help reduce unnecessary suffering.
I was unaware of just how many pets are being treated for allergies, fungal infections, yeast infections and other chronic skin conditions. The other issue that is painful to witness is the sheer chemical load these pets are bearing. Anti-biotics, Anti-fungals, Anti-histamines, Steroids (immune suppressants) are all tough decisions a pet parent must make with their vet.
What’s so upsetting to us is that even after all this emotional and financial burden, many animals are still suffering.
Further, we’re finding that shampoos with words on the label like: Medicated, Gentle, Natural, All Natural, Aloe, Oatmeal are just disguises for chemical concoctions that contain skin allergens to humans and animals that actually compound these skin problems!
My wife Sandy and I have owned and operated a non-toxic human skin care company called Bausc, Inc since 2010. The mission of the company was to make people aware of the lack of regulation, labeling laws, and toxins in everyday human skin care products.
